I installed the optional Authentec AESA update and it caused my fingerprint reader to stop working. Articles about Microsoft Fingerprint Reader: I have a HP DVt notebook and the reader is inside the chassis, so removing it isnt really an option. The same autentec happened after and before installing SP1 for Vista. Windows Update had an update for this device, but the update failed and I cannot find a way to reinstall the update. I have tried all the other drivers on this thread, but nothing happens and Windows ultimately automatically updates the driver anyway to the new one! I have windows updates set to ask me first, but this one has a mind of it’s own.
